Nautilus International actively campaigns to achieve gender diversity and inclusion at sea, tackling in particular the challenge of retaining women in the maritime workplace. Work to this end has included addressing the problems of bullying and harassment, sexual harassment, negative attitudes and maternity discrimination. Nautilus is happy to work with other networks to achieve common objectives, pool resources and effect real change.

Nautilus International is an independent global trade union and professional organisation delivering high quality, cost effective service for members. This includes legal support, workplace support, certificate protection and representation at a range of national and international bodies.

After completing her cadetship and sailing as a third officer, she came ashore and worked in the crewing department for Meridian Marine management. She then relocated to Southampton to work in the maritime regulations department as a specialist for Lloyd's Register, before returning to the Wirral, where she worked as a project manager for WMT Marine.
